  • Where to get Roll Cage....

    Hey guys,

I like the new forum setup. Anyway, I have a 1991 RS Convertable. I have lots of plans for it. However I know that I will need to reinforce the chasis to make it safe. I am planning on sub-frame connecters and a roll cage. I know that they sell roll cage kits online, but I havnt seen any for convertables. Do you guys know of a place to get one? If not, would I be better off getting a cage for a coupe and having a shop modify it to fit the drop-top or just letting the shop start from scratch?

    Thankx in Advance,

If you wouldn't mind the drive to MD, I know the perfect guy. Eric and Kent Island Speed www.kentislandspeed.com he makes nearly 100% of the cages for EFA, they are all done by hand and totally custom to your needs and they look very nice!

Check out his site for more info...

There are at least 3 places in NJ that do custom bars:

Matt Antonelli @ Finish Line Performance in Hibernia. If you click on the "Fabrication" page, most of those pics of the roll bar are my car. Very high quality

NeverLift Motorsports .... I think they might be around South Amboy. They do high tech 25.1 chassis work. Very high quality

Coast Chassis in Jamesburg. Sort of a laid back, low $$$ place, and has a hard time keeping schedules, but if he finishes it, it will be good value for $$$$.

You might want to clarify whether you are looking for a "roll bar" - 5- or 6-point design, or a true "roll cage" - 10- 12-point NHRA certified design for sub 10-second cars.
